Existing Foundation
Witteveen & Bos, Deventer

After a fire destroyed the inside of this historic building, immediate action had to be taken to stabilize the property. The characteristic façades could fortunately be saved. Because the existing foundation had its limitations, a floor system with as little self-weight as possible was selected, evidently without making any concessions to acoustic properties, isolation and, of course, fire-resistance.

The Slimline floor system meets all the requirements of the structural engineer as well as the architect. The floor system even holds a number of additional advantages, such as the freedom of layout and easy modification in the future. The acoustic decoupling between the Slimline floor elements and the subfloor results in acoustic isolation which surpasses office requirements.
